The scale of work that will be taking place along Edge Lane during the next few years will inevitably create some disruption to traffic and road restrictions will be in place.

However, Liverpool Vision have agreed plans with its partners in the City Council and the emergency services to manage the works in a way that seeks to minimise the disruption. Suggested alternative routes can be seen for those coming from outside the area and those living locally.

During morning peak times there will be no restrictions on Edge Lane with both lanes open into the city for the majority of the works.

There will however be some outbound restrictions at all times and Liverpool Vision advises commuters to make alternative arrangements to avoid Edge Lane when coming out of the city at peak times.

During non peak times there are likely to be restrictions in either direction for the majority of the works - why not register with us to receive traffic and project updates via email.

The highway improvements are all programmed for completion in time for European Capital of Culture in 2008.
