Use these directions if you are travelling from within Liverpool;
depending upon your destination use one of the routes shown below.
Route
1 West Derby Road
1. From the traffic lights at the end of the M62 Motorway
take the right hand lane that allows traffic to turn right, heading
North, on Queen's Drive (A5058).
2. Proceed North along Queen's Drive (A5058) and across the junction
with Prescot Road East (A57).
3. Continue along Queen's Drive for approximately .75 of a mile.
4. At the junction with Mill Lane/Mill Bank turn left (Premier Travel
Inn on the left and the Jolly Miller public house on the right) -
continue along Queen's Drive to get to Anfield (Liverpool FC) and
Goodison (Everton FC) or locations North of Liverpool city centre.
5. Proceed down Mill Bank to the roundabout and continue through
the round about onto West Derby Road (A5049).
6. Continue down West Derby Road (which becomes Rocky Lane for a
brief period) and across the junction with Belmont Road (A5089)/Sheil
Road (B5188) and on for approximately .5 of a mile.
7. Once past the Grafton Rooms and Olympia (both on your left) continue
on and at the next set of traffic lights follow the road around and
take the right hand lane to proceed down Islington to Liverpool city
centre.
Route 2 Prescot Rd/Kensington
1. From the traffic lights at the end of the M62 Motorway
take the right hand lane that allows traffic to turn right, heading
North, on Queen's Drive (A5058).
2. Proceed North along Queen's Drive (A5058) and turn left at the
junction with Prescot Road/Prescot Road East (A57).
3. Continue down Prescot Road and across the junction with Derby
Lane (to the right) and St Oswald Street (on the left).
4. Proceed West along Prescot Road and across the junction with Green
Lane (B5189 to your right).
5. Continue along Prescot Road for approximately .75 of a mile and
across the junction with Sheil Road (B5188 on your right) and Beech
Street (on your left) onto Kensington with McDonald's Restaurant
on your left.
6. Proceed down Kensington (still on the A57) and over the junction
with Holt Road (B5173 on your left) and the next junction with Jubilee
Drive on your left and Farnworth Street on your right.
7. At the next major junction get in to the right hand lane (you
will have Hall Lane - B5340 - on your left, Prescot Street and the
Royal University and Broadgreen Hospital straight ahead with Erskine
Street and then Islington to the right.
8. Turn right onto Erskine Street and then onto Islington for Liverpool
city centre, the Mersey Tunnels (Birkenhead and Wallasey), Ferries
and locations North of Liverpool city centre.
Route 3 Childwall Rd/Wavertree Rd
1. From the traffic lights at the end of the M62 Motorway
take the left most lane that allows traffic to turn left, heading
South, on Queen's Drive (A5058).
2. Proceed South along Queen's Drive (A5058) and across the junction
with Thingwall Road (on your right) and Rocky Lane (on your left).
3. Continue on to the roundabout at Childwall Fiveways (where Childwall
Valley Road, Childwall Priory Road, Queen's Drive and Childwall Road
meet) and take the fourth exit from the roundabout (i.e. to take
you left) heading West on Childwall Road (B5178).
4. Continue along Childwall Road until the roundabout and proceed
through (take the second exit from) the roundabout onto the High
Street.
5. Proceed along the High Street and across the junction with Rathbone
Road (B5179 on your right) and Wellington Road (B5179 on your left)
onto Picton Road.
6. Continue down Picton Road and across the junction with Durning
Road (B5173 on your right) and Tunnel Road (B5173 on your left) onto
Wavertree Road - Turn left onto Tunnel Road and right at the next
junction onto Upper Parliament Street to get to Liverpool Women's
Hospital.
7. Continue down Wavertree Road and across the junction with Marmaduke
Street (on your right) and Overton Street (on your left) and on down
to Irvine Street.
8. Continue on to West Derby Street for Liverpool city centre or
bear left on to Minshull Street for the universities.
Route 4 Smithdown Rd
1. From the traffic lights at the end of the M62 Motorway take
the left most lane that allows traffic to turn left, heading South,
on Queen's Drive (A5058).
2. Proceed South along Queen's Drive (A5058) and across the junction
with Thingwall Road (on your right) and Rocky Lane (on your left).
3. Continue on to the roundabout at Childwall Fiveways (where Childwall
Valley Road, Childwall Priory Road, Queen's Drive and Childwall Road
meet) and take the third exit from the roundabout continuing to head
South on Queen's Drive.
4. Continue along Queen's Drive and across the junction with Woolton
Road until the next roundabout (where Queen's Drive and Menlove Avenue
intersect) and take the second exit from the roundabout moving immediately
into the right hand lane.
5. Turn right onto Allerton Road (A562) and proceed onwards to Smithdown
Road crossing the junction with Church Road (on your right) and Penny
Lane (on your left).
6. Continue on down Smithdown Road for approximately 1.5 miles and
until you reach the junction with Tunnel Road (B5173 on your right)
and Lodge Lane (on your left) and continue forwards onto Upper Parliament
Street.
7. Continue on along Upper Parliament Street and after approximately
.25 of a mile you will pass Liverpool Women's Hospital on your right.
8. Proceed West on Parliament Street for Liverpool's cathedrals,
the Albert Dock, Liverpool city centre, ferries and the tunnels.

Use these directions if you are travelling from outside Liverpool; depending
upon your destination use either the 'North Route' or 'South Route' into the
city.
North Route
1. Leave the M62 at junction 6 and join the M57 heading North.
2. Continue along
the M57 until junction 4 at which point join the A5208 and take left hand slip
road to join the East Lancashire Road (A580).
3. Continue west along the East Lancashire
Road (A580), which becomes Walton Hall Avenue.
4. Continue along Walton Hall Avenue
and across Queens Drive onto Walton Lane (still the A580) – you are now
close to both Everton FC and Liverpool FC.
5. Continue along Walton Hall Avenue
which becomes Everton Valley and then Kirkdale Road (A59).
6. Kirkdale Road then
becomes Scotland Road (still A59), which takes you to the Kingsway (Wallasey)
Tunnel and further along the road, the Queensway (Birkenhead) Tunnel.
7. This
route brings you into Liverpool City Centre from the North and all local attractions
and key routes are signposted from Scotland Road.
South Route
1. Leave the M62 at junction 6 and join the Knowsley Expressway (A5300)
heading south.
2. At the end of the Expressway (roundabout) take the
third exit from the roundabout onto Speke Road (A562).
3. Continue down
Speke Road, which then becomes Speke Boulevard (A561) – Note
the jaguar factory at Halewood can be accessed from this road.
4. Continue
along Speke Boulevard (A561) and notice the left turn to Liverpool
John Lennon Airport (signposted) at the junction with Speke Hall Avenue.
5.
Continue on along Speke Road (A561) again and across the roundabout
(note: new Mersey retail park on your right) and the road becomes
Garston Way (A561) continue on along the road which becomes Saint
Mary’s Road and then
Aigburth Road (A561).
6. Continuing on down Aigburth Road (A561) you
will pas Liverpool Cricket Club on you left. Carry on for a further
mile and at the next junction (with Otterspool park on your left)
take the left turn into Jericho Lane.
7. When you reach the roundabout
at the end of Jericho Lane take the second exit onto Riverside Drive.
8.
Continue along Riverside Drive and across (2nd exit) both roundabouts
that you encounter and then along the road with the river Mersey
on your left.
9. Continue across the next roundabout (2nd exit) onto
Sefton Street with the Brunswick Business Park on your left. Continue
across (2nd exit) the next roundabout you encounter and remain on Sefton
Street (A5036) for X miles.
10. At the
next major junction you can continue straight on along Chaloner Street
for the Albert Dock, Ferry Terminals and southern approach to the City
Centre or you can turn right onto Parliament Street (A562) for the
Cathedrals, Liverpool Women’s Hospital and South Liverpool Suburbs.
