Map showing key Edge Lane development projects
In addition to the major road and environmental improvements there are also a range of development sites along the Edge Lane corridor (use the interactive map below to find out more) aimed at creating job opportunities for local people.
Work is now underway on the former MTL bus depot which is one of the most important development sites outside the city centre. The site - owned by the Northwest Regional Development Agency - will be a development of high quality buildings set within a landscaped environment that links to the established and successful Wavertree Technology Park to Edge Lane.
Liverpool Vision has appointed Urban Splash to bring the imposing art deco former Littlewoods building back into use with plans for a hotel, residential and business use.
An exciting commercial business development has also been earmarked for a prominent
site with the Edge
Lane West scheme next to the Manor House public house. Langtree is working on detailed designs for the site which will include high quality managed offices and business space for owner-occupiers.
The Liverpool Digital scheme on the former Marconi site offers opportunities for new and refurbished buildings for science, information and communications technology and knowledge-based businesses. The site already has its first tenant - the International Centre for Digital Content (ICDC).
The Edge Lane Project will also see retail improvements including the extension and remodelling of Edge Lane Retail Park.
